From Lighting Assistant to Executive Producer: The First Episode of The Dish

I started out on Emerson Independent Video’s The Dish as not a producers assistant or associate producer. I started out as a lighting assistant. So, how did I become Executive Producer of Emerson’s only entertainment news show?

I worked hard and worked my way up to lighting director. The producers saw my passion for The Dish and before I left for my study abroad they asked if I would like to take it over once I returned. I said yes.

So after re-working this show with my co-producer Alyssa Altman, here is our first episode. We changed the format, graphics package, and made the show our own.

I created the logo, show format, and supervised graphic and music production for the new season. Choose all crew, co-oversaw all creative decisions, oversaw all technical decisions and kept segment producers on task.
